Your Weekly Horoscope by Anne Shaw
For the week of June 24th 2017

Stargazing with Annie Shaw
ARIES:
Money worries (yours or those of someone close) will take a few days more to sort out. If you can let the worry go the situation will manifest quicker in a more positive way. TAURUS:
The sun in Cancer will bring to a head a long-simmering issue in your life…therefore it’s best to keep your cool. On the bright side is your boss Venus is here for a visit of love. GEM
INI: It’s time to close the loop on an event which has dominated your thinking these past few weeks. The reality is that may have made a small event too large by overthinking it. Take a deep breath and let it go…by month’s end you will recognize it for what it is: small potatoes. CAN
CER: Movement is good for you and this week it’s all around you and in the family also. Be strong and all the hard work you put in last month will bear fruit this coming week. Mars in your life now will assist you. Happy Birthday. LEO: Financial is…

MEET A MEMBER - KERRY DAVID

Meet Kerry David from East Haddon, Northamptonshire who moved to LA in 1988 to pursue filmmaking.
Was there a particular reason you chose LA ?
I originally left my home in England for what was supposed to be a two-week backpacking trip around France, but got the travel bug and ending up spending several years roaming throughout Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. I only came to the US to renew my visa, with every intention of heading back to Oz ASAP. However, shortly after I arrived I got an offer I couldn’t refuse: to join an all-girl band and spend the next chapter of my life singing, touring, and writing songs. After that wild adventure, I joined the cast of a four-person rock play written by Rex Weiner and produced by Adam Ant and John Densmore, and then landed a job at Paramount Pictures, then for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman until I started my own production company — and decided to make LA my home.
What do you miss most from home?
I miss the British countryside. Seems silly to s…

LA PRIDE 2017

Image
What does Pride mean?

A party? A time to get drunk and dress scantily clad in the streets? Perhaps it's all of these.

BUT IT IS ALSO -- SO MUCH MORE.

As we celebrate Pride month I'd like to share brief history about just how far we have come and why it is still so important.

In the late 1960's, Los Angeles took to the streets, like a lot of America did, for the women's movement, anti-war rallies, and of course for LBGT rights. It has been quite the battle over the years as the power in politics has changed hands, over and over again.

Unfortunately the threat of rights and violence is still prevalent today, especially on a global level, where lgbt people are being thrown off buildings, beheaded, stoned, and held in confinement camps.

In the 60's to be gay, meant you had a mental illness and were considered immoral human beings. Same-sex relationships were considered illegal and you could be locked up for kissing in public or even holding hands. People's lives were …

MEET A MEMBER - SEBASTIAN SACCO

Meet A Member: Sebastian SaccoJune 9, 2017 10:33 pm· Meet Sebastian Sacco from Sussex who moved to LA last week(!) to pursue acting.
Was there a particular reason you chose LA? I just found LA had so many more open doors for me. It has also always been my dream to come America and work in here. What do you miss most from home? Sarcasm and decent public transport. Why did I ever complain about the tubes!… What was your first impression of LA and has it changed since? I first came out two and half years ago. I instantly fell in love and knew I had to get back here. Now reality has come in and my eyes are way more open but I’m still very happy to be here and know I’ve done the right thing. What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus your home town? Well the weather is obviously the first thing. There something very exciting about LA. Walking around London you might occasionally spot something from TV or film but here it’s everywhere. Bit like being in New York. You kinda fee…
