Seasons Greetings Britlings.
By now most of you are probably headed back to the motherland for the holidays, for thos e who remain, enjoy L.A. in it's former glory - Where freeways will be mildly empty, and better still, no lines in the supermarket checkout. It truly will take only 20 minutes to get from Hollywood to Santa Monica beach or the opposite way to downtown, LA. (Yes I'm having an SNL "The Californians" conversation with myself.)



Speaking of DTLA. My, that area has changed in a heartbeat - Hustling and bustling.  Seriously becoming the "It" place to be. I lived down there in the year 2000 and it was a ghost town. Well, not any more.


On Sunday, I visited something called "Smorgesburg" A collection of pop-up food vendors, from Lobster, to Tacos,  Cool clothing stores in camper vans and vintage books. It's open every Sunday, 10am-4pm, on the five-acre site of the weekday Alameda Produce Market in Downtown Los Angeles.

MEET A MEMBER - DAVID MCMANLEY

Meet David McManley from Cumbria who moved to LA three months ago to pursue acting and modelling!


Q: Was there a particular reason you chose LA?
A: Before moving to LA, I was in NYC modelling and making my transition into acting. In New York, however, it's a lot more theatre and I had aspirations for film & television. I finally reached a point where I asked myself, 'If not now, then when?' and so I signed with LA Models, packed my bags,and moved to Hollywood!
Q: What do you miss most from home?
A: How much time do you have? No, really-- the first things that come to mind are: a proper kebab, Camden Town, Robinson's squash, and Rugby.
Q: What was your first impression of LA and has it changed since?
A: It was like a dream. The sun, beaches, and palm trees. It's a climate and lifestyle I grew accustomed to after living in Brasil and one that I definitely prefer! So far, my impressions haven't changed at all. I take the good with the bad but, for me, LA has had so …
